The more I learn about Fitz, the more I'm impressed...I think Fitz was very capable of buzzing Dempsey, maybe scoring a knockdown. But I would take Dempsey by KO in six rounds or less, because it would turn into a shootout. BTW- Jack Johnson said in his auto, that both Sullivan and Fitz would have beaten Dempsey. Looking forward to hearing what the old timers say on this...I wonder how Fitz would have done against Dempsey's overall competition?
Dempsey KO in 3 or 4. He'll close the distance and let fly with those fast and powerful hands and that will be the end of it. We're talking Dempsey here...not Dunkhorst
Dempsey must start the favourite here. But, He did have a habit of getting a bit sloppy and getting caught. See for example the Firpo fight. If Fitz nails him, like that he might not let him off the caught. It wasnt uncommon for those who saw both to select fitz, so nothing would surprise, in fact , quite strangely and surprisingly Fitz probably has the more impressive one punch KO wins. Either way, it would be a great fight.
