Bob Fitzsimmons vs. Max Baer

As with all potential Baer matchups, it depends on which Baer shows up.

 

Baer hurts him....Baer had a hard chin he handled Louis power, so single punches from Fitz shouldn't stop him if Louis best needs 4 rds

 

Both had that cracking power but I'll go with Max, purely because he has the better chin.
This fight maybe resemble s the Fitz v Jeffries fights, with Bob mashing the hell out of Max s face, then Baer getting him eventually.

 

I don't see Bob Fitzsimmons beating Max Baer, who brutally beat Primo Carner, and beating Max Schmeling.

 

Although I don’t rate him I’d have to go with Baer.
It would come down to the chins and Max had the stronger one.

 

I don’t know. Bob Fitzsimmons was a true ATG. A three division world champion. A man who was tough as nails and brilliant for his time. Meanwhile you had Max Baer who was somewhat pedestrian in his skills but a much larger man with an iron chin and sledgehammer power and captured the heavyweight title. It’s a tough call but I’m giving Bob a good chance here.

 

There is no film that would make me pick Fitz here. At least none I know of. Max by KO at best

 

Fitz was too small of a man for me to pick him over Baer, and not mobile enough to write off the chance of him getting hit. Baer would make him eat the canvas.

 

Baer at his best def looks more balanced faster and stronger. But ur right in that they both look horrible

 

He handled Louis’ power?

 

Yes he took knees and quit basically, he had a chin to be great he was no longer interested in fighting hard in fact that was his weakness he wasn't serious about fighting and never had the mindset or discipline of a great.
