Bob Fitzsimmons vs. Max Baer

nice to just make **** up.

 

I don't have to I watched the fight several times...the only thing that is fact is Joe Louis won and the fight was stopped in the 4th

 

Which Baer? Any. Baer could show up at his best or after his best party and win. Different eras by far. The technique was much more modern by Baer's time, still evolving but better by a lot. I can't imagine Fitz, who was way smaller and hittable beating Baer. Watching the limited film on Fitz vs the good, bad and ugly film on Baer I've come to this conclusion.I respect and admire the contributions of Bob Fitzsimmons but he would be no match for Baer technically or physically. Fitz had good technique for his time, but nothing about what I've seen says he could stand up to the best of the 1930s. Baer would brutalize big Jeff imo

 

Fitzsimmons is my pick & I fancy cleaning up on this forum if & when the Time Machine to make it happen exists. They really aren’t in the same class as fighters.
