Fitz would do less well than Wassaja, probably.

You are comparing one of the most lethal punchers in boxing history to someone who doesn't have any power behind his punches. I'll tell you this - if Fitz found Spinks with so many body punches, he'd kill him.

Spinks definitely wouldn't like to give Bob as much space as he did in this fight.

Not really. It's more effective to defend using footwork and head movement. Keeping hands up can slow down head movement in a lot of cases. Mike Tyson being an obvious exception. Relying on a high guard in a bare knuckle match will quickly leave a fighter finding their opponents slipping in between their arms or easily going around. Think of the size difference between a fist and a glove. It's huge.

I never had a fight with low hands it makes no sense, another thing is when you are tired and you can't keep the guard up but low guard is not a good election under any situation

I’m comparing a guy who was clearly antiquated on film to an elite amateur and solid pro who fought 70-odd years later.

I love Fitz, he’s top 10 of all time for me. I have no idea who you are so don’t bother trying to converse with me.
