The footage is pretty bad. It was the first feature length film ever shot in history. This is about the best we could do: https://streamable.com/sspz (Credit: Klompton) You can tell something is going on there. Looks like a hook by Fitz. But you can't fully grasp it. It is difficult, for instance, to gauge the fighters balance, pace, timing, and range. Did Fitz set up the hook with a jab? Did Fitz take a jab on the way in? It's hard to tell, yet these would be crucial details. I think this could be Rockys toughest fight of his career. I favor him for a late fight KO, but Fitz has the power to take any fight.
If it's with 4oz gloves shut the gate, Marciano simply cannot win it. Fitz is the GOAT sporting 4oz'ers.
There's a 3 minute clip on YouTube. I don't know if it's the real fight or a staged rehearsal though. Tbh I can't even tell if it's really Jeffries, Bob looks like the bigger man. The quality of that footage is a lot smoother.
I did think that but there was nothing on the description. The size disparity really threw me though.
I don't think glove size would matter here because Marciano had a style that didn't rely on covering up. Marciano hit harder than Jeffries so I am going to go with him. I feel he would get to Fitz a lot faster. I do think though that Fitz would look somewhat like a matador in there while the fight lasted. Marciano KO 8.
I would have a bit more confidence in the 35years old version of Fitz, his hands were in bad condition by the time of the second Jeffries fight, plus he was nearly 40 years old.
