Foster in his prime absolutely devastating, one of the best light heavyweights of all time in my opinion. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sSzBKKjYl9s He might have the hardest left hook in the division's history. 6'3" 80" reach, outstanding left jab, a seasoned amateur who was groomed to be champion. He is an absolute nightmare head to head
His era was weak; but there were loads of good chins among his victims. Doesn't matter. When Foster hits you, you go.
Agreed. Freakish Power, and a nasty left jab. Henry Hank can attest to having good durability cracked by Foster Re watched his fight with Ali in 72, he out jabbed Ali. He hit ali a lot! He was the first to cut Ali. Ali was just too big and strong. I don't think any man in history under 5'10" tall under 175lb beats a prime Bob Foster.
Fffffft. In a one of fight I wouldn't even be up for making a pick. I've a hunch that Moore would trap Foster onto something awful a couple of times in three fights on the inside and that might be enough to bring him out on the right side of a trilogy, but these guys were just machines at 175lbs.
If we're talking about 15 rds. Over 10 or 12, I think Bob would be too much for Moore, jab and power.
Great ****ysis I think with fosters height length jab and power he would've been too much for shorter greats ...even Sam Langford. Langford never would've got away from his jab and hook
I still don't trust Foster against bigger punching light heavyweights given just how much he got hit at the weight. Of course, anyone facing him has to go through a hell of a lot to firepower to hope he cracks first. Credit where it's due! That said, Bob got away with a lot of bad habits at 175 thanks to the physical advantages he enjoyed against fighters who couldn't hurt him. That routinely caught up to him whenever moved up in weight, but it is worth remembering he never did face a light heavyweight puncher that'd rate as very good historically, let alone great, to potentially make him pay at the weight. Great for sure, but one of the more vulnerable ATG's in the division for me.
