Frankie was a real life wise guy so we can question his character. Did he dump this fight or was he just out of his depth? I herd he and his 'team' knew he couldn't win against the great Bob foster so they bet big money on a first round ko. What do you guys think?
Both men are swinging for the fences ,so I think it was legit.Foster's manager Lou Viscusi had some"history" but still I think it was a kosher fight.
Foster landed some huge left hooks. The punches that dropped DePaula don't look big but he could have been stunned by previous punches.
Nothing about that fight looked like a fix. Once Foster figured out the range, he landed several HARD left hooks. Foster's hooks could do that to almost any Light Heavy in history if he lands it right.
If it was fixed, why did he keep getting up. Foster was a HVYT puncher in the ring with a modern-day SPRMLWT.
The fishy element is how did this guy get a title shot? What were his qualifications besides losing a close one to Diick Tiger?
Agreed! Seems like he was little more than a 6-8 round fighter with a handful of losses then loses over 10 to tiger then lands a shot against the best in the world! Fishy indeed then the questionable performance against Foster hmmm.
I'm not sure about his body language/Manor after the bout. Was he going down too easy? I don't know maybe I'm paranoid if I hadn't heard of Frankies background or the roomers of a fix I probably wouldn't question his performance. That's why I was interested to see what you guys thought. I'm still not 100% sure it was on the level. Might be irrelevant but watch how quick ringsiders throw up their hands and leave as soon as the fight is over did they smell a rat? I don't think iv seen that happen at a championship quite as quickly! they were actually there after all.
I think Foster took it personally that it was ruled a knockdown when he went down. He was punching very hard, really turning on those shots.
