Six foot three Foster versus five foot seven Burns ,prime for prime, at 175lbs. Fifteen rounds whom do you like and why?
At the risk of copping flak I'm going to say I believe he has a chance. The height advantage has surely got to come in to play here .Burns would find him difficult to get inside if anything else. Not sure regarding Tommy's punching power ,we know that Foster didn't travel well going up ,so we have to factor that in .Could either man really hurt the other to call it equal ?Not sure Bobs stopping him but I think he has the ability to out score him .Could be way wrong here but that's my gut feeling.
I agree with this post but, if they're meeting at 175, then Foster is not really 'travelling up.' I tend to rate Burns on my LHW lists rather than at HW, so I'm really pleased to see this match up proposed here. Sort of match up I relish. I see this as a great yet untidy scrap. The first few rounds would be an ultra violent messy brawl, until Foster establishes a little range by landing a few discouraging big ones. But unperturbed, burns piles in again, with the ref eventually jumping in to save a bloody Burns late on. Incidentally, my atg lhw list reads thus: 10. Foster 11. Jones Jr 12. Choynski 13. H Johnson 14. Stribling 15. Burns
Of course, I stand corrected. He wouldn't be traveling up .I thintkthere's more chance of Burns being stopped on cuts than bombed out. I reckon he'd absorb a lot of fosters full on hits .
