This. Don't see the point of this thread. Foster was a great light heavyweight and had the power to hurt heavyweights, but any elite heavyweight with power kills him, since his chin didn't hold up at heavyweight.

    Bob Foster 6'3" 183 vs. Ernie Terrell 6'6" 202

His record vs heavyweights, including guys who were in the 180s, is something like 0-6 with moslty stoppage loses.

Foster was a great Lightheavy. Above that weight, even he admitted he shouldn't have been fighting at.

In all honesty he was fighting some very talented and hard hitting heavyweight fighters.
Doug Jones was ranked #3 in 1962 and arguably beat Muhammad Ali.
Ernie Terrell was ranked #3 in 1964 and beat top fighters such as Eddie Machen, Doug Jones, and George Chuvalo.
Zora Folley was ranked #5 in 1965.
Joe Frazier was the world champ in 1970.
Muhammad Ali was ranked #1 in 1972.
Mauro Mina #4 at light heavyweight and also managed to knock out Gregorio Peralta, who Foreman needed two fights to knockout and also Peralta was old at that time.

Mina and Jones wouldn't cut it at heavyweight today.

I disagree. I could see Jones easily out hustling a lot of the fat slobs that are heavyweights today. Breazeale, Kownacki, Miller, and Whyte pass as top 10 heavyweights today and would get schooled by Doug Jones. Doug Jones could easily be a top 10 heavyweight today.

Also, Mina was a career light heavyweight, but had power, a great chin, and defense. I could definitely see him out boxing and outpointing some of the heavyweights in the top 10, who can't apply pressure for more than 15 seconds without sucking wind.

Archie Moore had no problem cleaning out heavyweight contenders in between his light heavyweight title defenses.

All you people keep getting carried away. Early days for Wilder we need to wait for him to step up the competition before we can determine how good he could be.

Foster didn't do well with guys at heavyweight.. And Wilder can punch, although it wouldn't shock me if Foster won... Wilder gets reckless when he hurts a guy.

Wilder has physical advantages. He will take out Foster inside 8 rounds.

Jones might be top 15, not #3. He didn't do well against guys who were 210ish. Mina didn't do **** at heavyweight to begin with.
