Tunney was the stockier and stronger fighter - he would push Foster back in the clinches and ram home his pet right hand.

Foster’s slashing fists would cause Gene to stall at times, but fail to have any sustained success as Tunney would manipulate any hairy situation. Gene would dart in with his straight jolts as he moves Foster into position with his feet.

Foster would make things interesting in between taking a hammering off a superbly trained Tunney. Gene would be looking out for the left hook as much as he was against Dempsey and take it out of play. He is the stronger, harder fighter with the ability to implement killer strategies.

A late stoppage in the marines favour.
