Bob Foster had alot of success against the heavyweights of that era on his way up. He dominated Allen Thomas Iced Eddie Cotton , and Torchered Henry Hank. The only one Foster didn't get by is the fantastic Mauro Mina, but foster was still a baby at the time. Peralta did very well against tall sluggers at heavyweight, but I think at light-heavyweight fosters jab will tear his face apart. peralta had no answer for it, and its going to dictate the pace of the fighter and open other doors for foster. It didnt matter how good your chin was at 175lb, foster was going to knock you the **** out. Jose Torres knew it, and went running for the hills. I like foster to catch peralta somewhere between 6th and 7th rounds and score a brutal Kayo.
Bob ain`t knocking out Peralta, very unlikely that would happen. This man was only ever stopped by George Foreman at the tail end of his career and this after having faced untold amount of punchers and bangers. If Jorge Ahumada whom I consider to be a notch below Gregorio in overall ability was able to rough up and manhandle Foster whenever he got in close and give him such a hard time methinks that Gregorio can do just as much if not do better. The man was a very cagey and clever boxer-puncher and was strong as an ox as well, and he could both box and brawl depending on the opponent in front of him. While I do think that on their best day Foster would walk away a winner, he wouldn`t look good in getting the win and would be made to look ordinary and vulnerable by the Argentinian at times throughout the bout, very underrated a fighter is Peralta in my book.
SusieQ is one the most dimwitted people here, I can see why it is a fan of Marciano. Peralta went 20 rounds with Prime Foreman, 2 fights with Ron Lyle with out being knocked down and 2 fights with Bonavana with out being stopped yet Bob Foster a light heavyweight would knock him out? Really SusieQ you should stop making post here. Do you smoke crack? Do you just post these stupid things to get attention because in the real world you can't get any? Anyway Bob Foster always got knocked out when he stepped up and fought bigger opponents. This fight would be no different. Peralta had a great chin and he would have no problem knocking Foster out.
I agree w/ your first part about Peralta being an easy mark for Foster's jab, but I'd be more inclined to favor Foster by either cut stoppage or safety-first UD a la the Hank rematch. This content is protected He wouldn't be "stepping up" to fight Peralta, they were both LHWs. The OP even specified that this fight would be @ 175.
