Moore could punch even at heavy which makes this a toss up. Foster didn't do anything like Moorer did at heavy, but I think he fought better heavyweights.

If this fight took place at 175 lbs, I've got to go with Bob Foster. He's got the height and reach to strike Moorer from long range. Moorer was very strong, powerful and aggressive at 175, but without the chin to accept Bob's power. Also, Moorer's stay at 175 was short and he never fought the best in the division. It is hard to guage just how good he could have been at 175. Foster is acknowledged my most experts has one of the top 2 or 3 lightheavyweights of all time.

He should have been able to deck Holyfield...Bert Cooper decked a healthier version of Evander.
How about Michael Spinks? Reference how he utterly destroyed Gerry ****ey...does that count?

Its true that Moorer's chin let him down at heavyweight but how was it at LHW? Was there anything in his bouts there that suggest that he had a weak chin against 175 pounders?

BTW. I remember Cooper had just survived a war with Ray Mercer shortly before he met Moorer but the finishing right uppercut that Moorer hit with at the end looked devastating. Same with Alex Stewart. They were exchanging punches at the top and I can still remember the gasp from the crowd when Moorer landed the uppercuts that made Stewart pitch forward onto his face. Even though he was a southpaw, his strongest punches were his right uppercut and right hook.

Well Mike Tyson couldn't deck Holyfield neither could George Foreaman, would you say they didn't hit hard??

No I wouldn't say Spinks hit as hard as Moorer IMO.

He was staggered by Frankie Swindell. He swallowed a lot of shots from Leslie Stewart, but was not hurt. Even if his chin doesn't let him down against Foster, his mediocre defense would. I just can't give the nod to a guy who was unproven against the best in his division, and fought at lightheavyweight at a time when the division was rather weak compared to what it was in Foster's time. I think there are several Lightheavyweights from the 70s who would be favored over Moorer, such as Spinks, Saad Muhammad, Braxton.

Foster would have KO'd both fat ass Michael Moore AND glass chinned Michael Moorer.
