Tough call. Foster probably has more skills, but he's a little fragile and doesn't have enough strength. He punches like a train, but physically he might get a little bullied and stopped once on the inside.

Ok, NOW we're going overboard on Kov.

    Foster blasts him.

Nobody's winning a shootout with Bob Foster at 175.

Foster was somewhat limited against Heavyweights not LHW's. This isn't even a question at LHW, and I think Kovalev is the real deal. I have no doubt that Bob Foster bombs him out. At LHW Foster is basically a boogeyman.

Bob Foster lost to Ernie Terrell, Frazier and Ali by KO. How does that equate getting bombed out by Kovalev?

I want to see a bit more of Kovalev before matching him vs a legend in a fantasy fight, but right now I'd lean his way over Foster. Bob was a bit of a glass cannon type.

Exactly. This **** is laughable. Kovalev wouldn't beat a younger Hopkins, nor would he beat Prime Jones Jr.

Yes he would. Both of them at 175lbs. Foster is one that could send kova asleep though but those two no. Nostalgia mentality. Kovalev is a beast at light heavyweight.

No he wouldn't. Nostalgia mentality? Not at all, but Kovalev beating lesser opposition means not much at all when comparing him to past top level guys. He beat a 49 year old Hopkins as he should have. A Hopkins a few years younger and that doesn't happen. Put his level of opposition in context also. He is trying to clean out the division, but lets not act like he has been facing murderers row. His best six wins are 49 year old Hopkins, Pascal, Caparello, Cleverly, Sillakh, and Campillo. That isn't a better set then Ademek, Johnson x2, Tarver x2, and a younger Hopkins. As a matter of fact, those six wins would trump Kovalev's six. My point is that lets not get ahead of ourselves. Kovalev is good. He has faced better equivalent opposition than Golovkin, but let's keep it in perspective.
