    That’s a lot of matches. At his best, I am picking him over every light heavyweight back to Harold Johnson at least though.

    Bob Foster was the only fighter to cut Muhammad Ali over the eye on Nov 21 1972, in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Ali stopped Foster in round 8.

    You know that John Conteh was the WBC no.1 contender for Bob Foster in 1974, Victor Galindez was the WBA mandatory challenger at the same time for Foster's crown. Bob said following his draw against Jorge Ahumada in 1974, I Will Just Retire, Fighting The WBA And The WBC Is Too Much A Mental Thing, he did retire with his title. Bob was champion from 1968-1974. Conteh defeated Ahumada on Oct 1 1974 in London, England by unanimous decision to win the WBC title. Galindez stopped Len Hutchins in the 12th round on Dec 7 1974 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to win the WBA title.
