So Foster tested himself against heavies around at the time. And Jirov was testing himself against what 28 heavies? lets fill in the blanks on that............... And what everyone is pointing out you fail to address is the horrible defense of Jirov.
Let's do an exercise here so you can set your biases aside: 1. Fighter A is very good/borderline great champion 2. Fighter B is a good/very good champion 3. Fighter A would need to give up 20 pounds and jump weightclasses to fight Fighter B 4. Fighter A has fought a handful of larger contenders or champion level boxers, similar in size to Fighter B give or take, but lost all of those fights by stoppage or wide decision. Can you think of any hisotrical instances where Fighter A should be picked to beat Fighter B, not naming Bob Foster or Jirov?
That's it exactly.Foster was an ATG lhvy Jirov was champ of a shallow B level division. He lacked even average defense and head movement, and the two really good fighters he met both beat him.Jirov beat no great or even near great fighters, and was floored and schooled by a fat ,steroid enhanced ex middleweight. He was a medium sized fish in a tiny pond. No more attention will be paid to "No Neck" on this thread by me. He is entitled to his opinion and I'm entitled to dismiss it.
