The over-used boxing moniker known as 'brutal', Foster was worthy of. He really did crush Tiger, Quarry and Rondon - a combination of one-punch KO's and fractured bones. It was Fosters slight nature and lack of physical presence that made him unable to apply that heavyweight-esque power to the bigger boys.
Lots of power related snippets in there. Mostly from Bob himself, however, but I wouldn't doubt him since he proved to us on camera he could blow brains out with either hand.
Very good article...enjoyed it. Dick Tiger...Ice cream and cake...wow...Never thought I'd see that comparison in the same sentence! :!:
Saw him fight in person...Springfield Mass...May 1969....4th round TKO of Andy Kendall.....nasty!!!! Great champ!!!!!
At 175 I rank Foster well BELOW the following. Billy Conn, Tommy Loughran, Archie Moore, Gene Tunney, Ezzard Charles, Roy Jones, Joey Maxim, Bob Fitzimmons, Michael Spinks. Foster fought in a relatively weak era for light heavies.
