No, the game realized that upperbody and headmovement was ineffective by 1978. Blocking punches with your face is much more effective and practical.

ther never were many guys who really fought this way as a style--mostly a tool/technique which yeah many still utilize in their own fashion

Seriously though. I really appreciate and enjoy guys with good upperbody movement, one thing that urks me today is fighters who get labeled as having a "Peek-A-Boo" style when in fact it's just a high guard. Winky & Abraham are the 2 best examples.

Peek-A-Boo involves more than just this:

Need that bobbing & weaving, side-to-side, popping up out of a crouch and reeling of a combination etc. One of my favorite fighters to watch is the guy in my AV pic Vasyl Lomachenko. He does showboat sometimes which i'm not a big fan of but he's a great boxer with a style that i enjoy watching.

great call. The way he'll stay in the pocket bent over i'll be sure he's going to eat a flush uppercut and... shazam.. he manages to make them miss.

This used to be the specialty of a lot of British fighters ...not sure what happened there.

Britain still produces some excellent fighters...brilliant athletic specimens..but I wondered what happend to the Buchanan's, the Winstone's, the McGowen's et al.

Povetkin showed glimpses of it in his last fight.

Ithought Lopez showed a few instances aswell last night avoiding Luevano's jab.

You mean like Frazier? James Toney. And I'd love for my man, David Tua, to bob when avoiding a jab and come up weaving and throwing punches n bunches.

I agree. Clottey and Abraham don't fight out of the peeka boo. They fought out of a shell as far as I'm concerned. Cus is rolling in his grave.

i saw juanma do it quite a last night..bobbing and weaving and coming in throwing hooks. Now that I think about it, he did alot if that fight to the point i was thinking to myself if he ever throws straight shots. Only rarely did i see a straight 1-2.

Joseph Agbeko uses a lot of upperbody movement.
