Looks good in the sparring, good movement, basic stuff. Feet are distanced properly and on line, foot pivots with the right punches, head is kept off center, etc. Looks light on his feet, solid defense. The heavy bag seems larger than usual for some reason. Wish there was audio.

Pastor was an excellent fighter. Probably the greatest Jewish heavyweight of all time, unless you count Max Baer as Jewish. Pastor took on most black fighters of the era and won in an era where many white fighters did not. very good boxer mover type.

Bump. He seems very adept at parrying as well.

True, just a glance at his resume shows you he fought Turkey Thompson, Lem Franklin and Jimmy Bivins, all very ducked men

I think Pastor was a good fighter. The challengers of the Joe Louis reign were much better than given credit for. Lou Nova is another good fighter from that time. There were lots of them. All good fighters and good contenders with lots of experience.

Good balance and skill. Good boxing mind, too.

    Not fast twitch.

Not at all! His name was Tom Sharkey, and he was one of the bravest and toughest men to lace the gloves. He was 5'8 180lbs of pure muscle yet contended with much larger Heavyweights through pure chin and power. He knew little of sweet science

A tough as sh*t, short, truncated, 180 pound wharf brawler who qualified as top level heavyweight back in the primordial days. Isn't that darling?
