He throws fights. In his prime he was a roided monster who was actually pretty dangerous when he tried.
Sapp was simply in MMA/K1 to get paid. He never took it seriously. If he actually trained he could of been a beast. I'll never forget the way he dragged Noguiera about like a rag doll. Also his two wins over Ernesto Hoost in K-1 cant be denied.
Cro Cop ruined Bob Sapp. The last time I saw Sapp really try was against Cro Cop. But when Mirko broke his orbital bone I think it put the fear of the devil into Bob. I think that before that he thought that he couldn't be hurt ... but the Croatian showed him otherwise.
yes fair point, before Cro Cop at least Sapp tried his best to win, after it seemed like he decided it was only for the cash. personally I think he never really had the proper fighting instincts if you know what I mean :!:
Well I watched him smash up Ernesto Hoost and I was half laughing, half screaming wtf at the sight of one of the greatest kickboxers in history get trapped in a corner and beaten to a pulp not once but twice by a roided clumsy giant. I agree with what you're saying though. Seems to me that these freakishly large guys have a feeling they are invulnerable and don't react well to getting hurt. Lesnar is another example. Filipovic said Sapp could have been one of the best fighters ever given his inhuman strength. Apparently he asked him why he wasn't even trying anymore and he couldn't understand Sapp's answer. I know what the answer is: he doesn't want to get hurt.
Hoost should not have attempted to brawl with Sapp, it is not his style. Leave the Brawling to Ray Sefo or Mark Hunt or Jeromme Le Banner, Hunt would have given Sapp a concussion. Ultimately styles make a fight, Hoost and NOGueira had a very submissive, relaxed, opportunistic style that played in to Sapp's hand.
Sappu might actually win his next fight. The opponent is some fat blob that got KO'd by Hong Man Choi few months ago.
