Bob Baker had a prety respectable chin. His only other stoppage losses were a TKO by Archie Moore and an 8th round knockout by Clarence Henry. What he did to Baker takes scary power. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WG8kmOgjSPY
Bob Satterfield was a thunderous puncher. Lots of people on this site want to measure punching power from "KO percentage" or how many pounds the man weighs, and all that crap. But you've got to see the footage and/or hear what people said about them to know what kind of power they had. Bob Satterfield could hit very very hard, dont care what his win-loss-draw-and KO numbers are. Dont care what he weighed. Curtis Sheppard's another one, murderous hitter.
I'm learning more about Satterfield...Exciting fighter, win, lose or draw! Judging by who he kayoed...I'm thinking his power may surpass Bob Foster's around the light heavyweight limit or so...:think
Lots of the old generation, guys over 65, (fans, trainers, fighters, writers etc.) seem to mention him, there's a lot of respect there for Satterfield, because he was a ballsy fighter who went out fearless for the KO, sometimes against far bigger fighters. He'd always give it his best. Was an early television favourite, in the days when boxing was on in every household. I'm no expert on Satterfield, but his name's come up as a favourite here and there among the older generation quite often. He must have been great entertainment value.
I think even his worst critic would admit that he was about as exciting to watch as a fighter can get.
