Would have to go with Cosell. Other then his Love for Ali, Cosell when he called a fight made you feel like you where there next to him. Just liked the way he called a fight. Bob never cared for his fight calls.

"Who is the Number 1 Fight Caller"??

More like who is less of a total turd.

And IMO the answer to that is Cossell, as I find Sheridan is utterly unbearable.

Neither one can hold a candle to Don Dunphy, Bill Corum, or Ted Husing. The best fight callers are all long gone from this world.

Cosell called the vast majority of fights I watched in the late 60's and pretty much all throughout the 70's...despite how aggravatging he could be, he provided color and insight in so many fights. I have to vote for Cosell.

Sheridan. I like his urgency more than the bombastic staccato of Cosell.

While I do like The Colonel, I've grown tired of hearing him describe EVERY fighter as "a lovely guy".

Howard went over the top when he wasn't pontificating or admonishing. I also liked his wig and the way he made being a jack-ass seem cool in those ABC blazers.

    :good

Cosell and Sheridan both blab or blabbed too much, but Sheridan has driven me crazy all too often......... I now miss Ol' Cosell.............. R.I.P.

    P.S.

Sheridan called the "Valuev-Haye" pretty good........

The fat in Sheridans neck along with his Bawwston accent makes his voice unbearable. I dont know how anyone could enjoy his commentary.

I've never liked Sheridan's calls (or his terrible scoring) and Cosell's lack of boxing knowledge always bothered me, but when Cosell nailed it, he can be iconic (Frazier/Foreman).

Cosell in a close UD that's a pretty ugly fight to watch.

Cosell over Sheridan, though I admit to having a certain bias. He had a certain uniqueness about him.
