This is the very reason why I don't call anyone who gets in the ring a bum. I don't care if it's Ali or man with over 100 career losses like Danny Warfford - These guys put themselves through hell and have lived as tough a life as they come, one which I could identify with gowing up in the barrio. Sad, sad story, choked me up a little. Chacon and Lopez are badasses, both of these men are just that - real men, who deserve endless respect.
] exactly after she did do it, he said basically what is stoping him from fighting now, there is nothing left for him basically. Sad story though esp when he said they could have made it
one of the most exciting fighters ever, never in a bad fight.its a shame things didnt turn out well for him.
Exactly why I refuse to call a pro boxer a bum, ***** or coward. They deserve more respect than that. This is a very sad story but unfortunately in boxing these kinds of stories make up much of the history of the fighters. Boxing has saved lives and boxing has taken lives in way way or the other.
I always thought it was 600K for that fight not 6K. I remember in one intreview the guy asked bobby how long it took him to get over that and he said "I'm not"
Bobby is a class act, he peaks his head in the Wildcard gym nearly every week, good people to talk to if you can make out what he is saying, funny as hell to, talks mad **** about Both Pepper and Freddy Roach, he fought both of them I guess that is why. its good to see him around the gym he just brings something to the club when he shows up the people there love him.
thats a shame,if someone deserved to live well of his boxing career is Chacon who was a joy to watch. nowadays theres some boring fighters that are millionaires while Chacon who had more action in one of his fights than these guys entire careers is living on the streets:-(
I don't understand how a guy that fought for World titles back in the 80's is living on skid row:huh jeez with all of the money he made why didn't he invest it in anything:huh.. Even if his investments failed he should still be able to get a job in warehouse somewhere driving a Forklift making 13-14 bucks an hour, he's still able to work, if he collects cans he can work..
What happend to Bobby Chacon was he had a bad drug habit, and he also had alot of friends who also had drug habits. the last two years of his career is really what did him in:-(
