has anyone got any recent update on him ? last i heard a few years ago he was homeless and was suffering from dementia...
Last time I saw him was at the press conference for Chavez v De La Hoya (olympic auditorium LA) He was very nice, but obviously something was wrong he was behaving childlike-- like a 5 year old. I would not say dementia as much as mentally devastated... the loss of his child literally drove him insane. He was very friendly... he sat next to me. However, that was about 15 years ago....
Bobby is doing fine, though he does suffer from pugilistic dementia. He has a 24 hour caregiver, Rosie, who is also his girlfriend...I have some recent photos of him that I'll post.
Chacon was in many great fights. Lopez, Limon (IV especially), Boza I&II, and many entertaining fights. He came through in and out of ring turmoil to punch his way to the top of the 130lb division seemingly past his best. A legend and a joy to watch.
Thanks for all the great pictures Kiki. You bring back some fond memories. It's good to see that Chacon is doing alright.
