I have no doubt that Lashley has a fragile Glass Jaw. Once he fights someone decent and gets hit he will get knocked out.
I'm not surprised. He thinks people are taking the **** out of him because of his pro wrestling background. He wants to be taken seriously and is there to win not just put on a show.
I'm still not impressed or convinced. If Lashley beats Sapp, then maybe there is something there. At least Sapp defeated Ernesto Hoost and Rick Roufus. But something tells me Lashley wont fight Sapp, but be on the defensive until Sapp tires out and then try to wrestle him into submission. I dont think he will make a fight of it.
lashley seems to be pretty pretty damn talented and has that aggressive chip on his shoulder just like lesnar due to the lack of respect and amount of **** they get over the fact they were pro wrestlers. id pick bobby lashley over bob sapp. and as far as smaller version of lesnar he isnt smaller by much, lesnar runs about 6'3 or 4 and around 265 lbs. lashley is 6'3 and runs about 250 lbs both are freakishly strong and maybe in the future we will get a fight between them it seems to be something they both want also
Lesnar was the NCAA Division I HEAVYWEIGHT Champion in 2000. Cuts weight to make the UFC limit and enters the Octogon at 280. Lashley was 177lbs in college and looks like a melted dildo at 250lbs. Struggled to take down Jason Guida. Looked tired after 2 minutes. Lesnar is a natural big heavyweight, Lashley isn't. Lesnar is also clearly faster and a better wrestler. In fact watching Lashley makes you realize just how talented and unusual Lesnar is.
Some guys take time to grow into their weight. The same happened to me. Im 30 now but when i was 20 i was 169lbs. Im now 243lbs with a 13% bf. Iv also never taken hormones like Lesnar and Lashley have. That being said both are genetic freaks. Lashley is a mountain of a man who just like Lesnar has awesome physical strength coupled with great athleticism. Dont sell the man short because the same dimension they have isnt that dissimilar to Sapps days over in the K1 and PRIDE. Lashely IS a natural heavy thats real. Lashley is 6ft 3. Im barely 6ft 1 and weigh 7lbs less than him. Im pretty sure he'd roll over me like a steam train. I was impressed with his sprawl and the fact he was able to use pure brute strength to get cook into the Guillotine so quickly. Very good win in my eyes considering his technique for a guy who only has 3 fights. Only one problem.. who gave that stupid nickname? :think
This is the first time I've seen a guy use a sprawl while just muscling a guillotine to choke a guy out instantly. That was vicious. I definitely think Lashley has potential. And I wouldn't make too much noise about these guys' ages - we have to remember they're all probably starting younger than Coleman, Severn and Couture started. Rather illustrious company to keep if you ask me.
His age isnt a problem. Lashley is a young 30. The guy hasnt been through anything potentially damaging to his career and has minimal wear and tear. How far he goes depends on how much he can absorb learn and his willingness to dedicate his life to MMA fulltime. Judging by what i saw he'll go far. Cook was actually unconcious in a matter of seconds from a sprawl that turned into a guillotine. It was pure brute strength there that clamped down on his windpipe. Almost a Jeff Monsonesque submission.
