Bobby Lashley??

His fights haven't looked nearly as convincing, still though, some decent potential and talent.

 

Lashley got his career off to a great start by winning five fights in fourteen months, but he's been pulling out of fights since January and it's time for him to move up in competition. A fight with another Strikeforce prospect (Cormier, Del Rosario or Sparks) or a former contender like Kharitonov or Arlovski would be a good test.

Lashley has the tools to be a real star, but at 33 time isn't on his side.

He most definitely cannot have similar success. He is 4-0 against good comp given his level but what Brock has done is for the ultra talented few. Brock's already got a champ and an interim champ on his record.

Lashley is a strong wrestler though but I'd like to see him grow. I think he can. At this stage he is legit but he has a long way to go.

 

Hard to tell right now. Obviously Lashley is 5-0, has alot of athletic ability, a great amateur wrestling background and has a great team to train with but its going to be hard to reach what Lesnar has done. First off Lesnar got his UFC contract and big fights so quickly because he was one of WWE's biggest stars at a good time for that company and had that great acting kind of personality that apparently people wanna see. Lashley is a much more calm guy, doesnt talk trash and hell even in the WWE you barley heard him speak. Now we know Lesnar hasnt been perfect in his MMA career but hes still finish off good oppostion I feel like Lashley still has some work to do ALOT of work to do hes undefeated but when watching him beat on these poor or mediorce fighters hes been fighting I dont feel like hes nearly as dominanting as a Brock Lesnar can be. Now I do think he has a good future ahead of him though. Might be 34 but hes probably a young 34 as hes had little MMA experience and even in the WWE he wasnt around very long just a couple of years so id say his body doesnt have to much wear and tear on it. Like ive said hes a great athlete training at a good camp in ATT so I expect some good things from him.

 

The WWE is starting to act as a marketing platform for these guys. Alot of them have trained in some sort of martial art. I'm sure even someone like Batista does some sort of striking or grappling on a hobby level. However it's fake fighting but builds a profile ready made for MMA to jump on.

 

simalar success ? well not sure but as far as potential im very impressed with what ive seen. that said he only needz to have one flaw exposed and he may never get close to brockz success but who knowz.

in closing when i saw brockz first few fightz i thought he was pretty rough but had alot of potential to go REALLY far. witch is the exact same thing i thought about bobby.

Needs to step up in opposition though, Id like to see some more of his stand up though, lets hope its not as bad as Lesnars.

 

Its high time that people started giving WWE wrestlers there props. The vast majority come from grappling or fighting disciplines and are fans of martial arts. Like us these guys are fans. Except there professional athletes who are good at what they do.

 

Why does it have to be WWE wrestlers? Why can't "that other promotion the one with the hexagon ring" get there props? Or is this like the UFC and Strikeforce where a fighter is only as good as its promotion? If thats the case Cain is a strikeforce fighter taking over the UFC! hahaha

 

I dont care wether its WWE TNA NJPW whatever. Professional wrestlers need to get their dues period.

 

Bobby Lashley has been added to the Strikeforce: Houston card in August. He will be taking on IFL veteran Chad Griggs (8-1, 7 KOs, 1 SUB).
