A very average looking, every man sort in Bobo against the likes of the sculpted, "advanced" athletes such as Jermaine Taylor, Edison Miranda, Andre Ward, Lucian Bute and so on. How does Bobo do? Is he merely a challenger, a champion, does he play both roles?
I could definitely see Bobo capturing a belt or 2, whether he'd be the top dog in the division for awhile is hard to say, but he'd definitely be one of the top rated middleweights/supermiddleweights. Kinda reminds me of Joe Calzaghe, sorta. He lost twice(?) to Dave Sands, who I hear was a fantastic boxer....the other losses while he was in his prime were by 2 guys named Robinson and Moore...no shame in that. I actually had him beating Robinson in their fight that went 15 rounds. His wins over Turpin, Maxim (at lightheavy), Gavilan, Castellani, Langlois and other solid contenders of the time lends credence to the opinion that he would do extremely well against today's clowns (Froch, Kessler, Pavlik, Martinez, etc). :good
The '48 to '54 Olson would give any of the fighters you mention a run for his money. Maybe not a big banger -- 'n boring as hell -- but Bo Bo was a tireless meat grinder inside.
