The old adage goes, "Body punchers dont like it to the body" do you believe this or have examples that have found this to be true? I mean it seems like if you're going in the trenches with someone fighting on the inside you have to expect to get hit as well in the body. Also maybe thats why body punchers become body punchers because they hate the way it feels so it gives them a greater appreciation for it. Thoughts and/or examples?
I've generally found that fighters who are good body punchers, are also better at protecting their own body from shots, than others are.
Toney was a decent body puncher, and may have been the best at taking bodypunches I've ever seen...him and Ali.
I don't think this really holds any validity, lets go over some very recent good body punchers. Rigo - Yeah he's good at not getting his body punished, but he just doesn't get hit much period. Cotto - Not anything special at protecting his body, takes plenty of body shots. Lucian Bute - Not proficient at defending body shots. Margarito - Easy to hit anywhere. Defensive guys like Rigo are hard to hit period. I don't see a higher prevalence of body punchers being better at protecting their body.

Bute/Pascal is one of those where I really have liked both guys outside the ring and I dread seeing either get trashed in the ring or out of the ring. So, I'm hoping for the highly unlikely incredible fight that goes the distance.
My predictions have been AWFUL as of late though so I hope Pascal ****s up. Here we go :deal The Froch/Pascal rematch is so much more awesome anyways.
