I wonder if this applies to boxing as well. Haven't been to the gym or exercised at all in a over week due to injury. Planning to go back tomorrow. Think this is the longest I've gone without any exercise in like 7-8 months.

It all depends on the time you have off. A week is **** all, you should take a week off every now and then when you're feeling **** for a few days. A month or more will be negative on your performance. It's about training smart not hard, something which most boxers won't accept as this concept is "new school".
What are you doing at min, Bulk or cut? Sounds like your diets been inconsistent with all the travelling. when's the first comp?
I am going to cut again, but travelling and first week on holiday, it's up and down. I will be cutting calorie intake from tomorrow, but it isn't too bad as I can cut sufficiently within the next few days.
