I checked my bodyfat percentage recently. I found it to be at 11.3. Do you guys think this a good percentage for boxing? I want to reduce it some more, maybe bring it down to 8 or 9. I weigh around 150 and I'm 6' .

Really just for my personal vanity. But I don't want to go down too low. At what percentage does someone start to look really cut?

    Bodybuilders are generally 5-6%
    Models generally 7-9%

That's roughly, it'll also depend on genetics.

How do you work it out properly ? Iv heard theres lots of ways that dont work out there? Im 6 ft and 3/4 inch to be exact and i weigh around 11 stone - 11 1/2 lol its fluctuating alot at the moment but iv got crap scales its around 70 kg. I wouldnt imagine my body fat would be particularly low , however im reasonably well deffined specially my abs and chest. Im not realy that worried tbh ill just work out and my body will take care of itself but just out of curiosity how do you work it out , cheers

the only real way to check is to use the water dunk test. teh scale and calipers are wrong. ive been told i had 2% bf by thoe things. lol.

I recently got one of those scales that measures bodyfat. It supposedly shoots an electric current up your body and measures the time it takes for it to come around. It's obviously not as accurate as the professional $70 tests that immerse you in water, but I figure it should give a pretty good estimate.

If your bf% is actually 11.3% then thats pretty much perfect.

Single-digit bodyfat % for long periods of time is not only bad for your health, but its also nearly impossible to achieve.

Bodybuilders are around 5% for their shows, but their literally only that low for that day and a few days building up to it.

Anything from 10-15% depending on the person is enough to have visible abs etc...

Joe, if your 6foot tall and you weigh 150 and 11.3% bodyfat you should be ripped and muscular. If thats not the case, then the bf reading is wrong.

Im a Doctor at Imperial College, and although nutiriton isnt my speciality I'd like to think I know a little :p
