First learn to keep your elbows tight to block body shots where you can. Then it's a case of all of your sit-ups, leg raises, Russian twists coming into play and taking enough of the impact away so that you can just suck up the rest.

Practice exhaling at the point of impact and the muscles underneath your abs will be activated to protect you. Sit ups do **** all for you really.

Not much at all that you can do, if he hits you in the right spot. The liver, the solar plexus, or under the heart are all legitimate fight ending blows.

you got hit in liver, no help here mate :) keep your right hand tight to your body. You can make muscles stronger and bigger, and that would help, but if the shot is accurate, there is no help

keep your elbow tucked. idk if it was the liver but thats the worst possible spot to be hit. also remember in amateur if you take a knee to get a count its not counted against you

I have never had any use with ab workouts for reducing body damage. Technique in taking the blow and pain tolerance have helped me tremendously. Exhale and coil your body without bringing your face to their fist.

Yes it is, and you look like a *****.

And there's nothing you can do about the shot except not take it or (as mentioned) absorb it.

You can't toughen the area, what you can do though is learn to prevent it. Keep your elbows tucked in well and never keep them out like chicken wings especially if your a beginner .. I would hit this new guy in the liver each time as a single shot to make him learn to put his elbow in but all he would do is take the shot.. he eventually 'reported' me saying i was too rough.

I donno if its something personal but a bit rough there Kill  .. On topic, yea if you can't prevent it (which is the best) then you gotta absorb it.. when the shot is coming lean towards it and take the full impact on your elbow, there's only 1 major problem with this, its not what happens there, its what happens after. The guy might have his intention to use his bodyshot as a decoy, your mind is full concentrated on blocking the body to the point where you forget about ALL your other body .. speed body shot then he'll straight crack your face out .. I use it alot :D

correction: 'one looks like a ***** when one takes a knee from a bodyshot' And yes it does count as a knockdown/8-count. Seen a dude take a knee 3 times from liver shots (slow-motion replay) and whine about them being low. He ended up winning the fight but it was televised/recorded, and everyone who saw it thinks he's a *****.
