I know plenty are interested in the Romanian Heavyweight prospect. This coming Friday he returns to action in the latest "Bigger is Better" tournament. Unfortunately these aren't regarded as pro bouts for the sake of boxrec but it'll still be good to see him in the ring again. http://www.biggersbetterboxing.com/?p=4569
I actually hoped to see him fight guys like Mitchell, Charr, Abdusalamov or Sosnowski. Somebody with a decent name. I think I understand what he tries to do. He needs exposure. He probably cant get any of those name, mostly because right now he is relatively unknown and regarded as a high risk very low reward. It's a good sign because he wants to make himself known and get those kind of fight. Eurosport is the best thing he has acces to at this stage of his career, hopefully later followed by ESPN. You know what's strange, once I looked the former Biggers Better winner Constantin Bejenaru, the moldovian/romanian how you like to cale him, basically it's almost the same for me... and guess what boxrec then, they did recognized those bouts. Now Intrigued by what you said, I checked again, and surprise... those fights were gone from his record on boxrec. Strange. But now to be fair, I remember the Romanian commentator on Eurosport making fun of the rules they agreed on for this show and the fights in it. 1 that I remember was that they can either fight with shoes on or barefoot thing that was left at the choice of the participants.
Well, at least it's still experience fighting actual opponents. - But Dinu is SOOOO much better than this. Man, does this guy need good management.
IDK bout that BSB....... I think his promoters could easily make him a big american fight on NBC or ESPN. This delay and backwards step in progression is likely poor mgmt or recovering from injury. Hadnt heard bout him in a while now, so like you Im happy he's coming back to the game.:think
Nobody knows him in America men. He could not even get a fight with the European WBO champ in Europe... so he first needs to make himself a name.
A good promoter would solve most of those problems, because in two fights with his connection he will make Dinu be Known, by the target audience. But guess what, Interbox didn't signed him, and nobody has offered him anything good. Maybe there's not much interest for a Romanian HW.
They did, but then took them down when they found out more about the tournament I think. I assume they, like most of us, assumed it was a "Prizefighter" type of thing. Interestingly Lee Kellet (a British fighter) got a slap on the wrist by the BBBofC for competing.
Dinu is a big man and a puncher and looks like the spawn of satan himself......he's got plenty of interest...... Now.....Glaskov was a relative unknown when Kathy Duva tried to make him a star on NBC. Scott had other plans, but the fights are there, it's just BDs mgmt needs to make the calls. Also....you were talking about him trying to fight the WBO Euro titlist????? Why doesnt Dinu just sign a non exclusive deal with Sauerland, maybe under the condition that Wegner is not his exclusive trainer, and that Dinu can, with financial strings, fight for other promoters as well(so's he dont get hemmed like Boystov). Also....if BD is no longer with Interbox(sucks for him b/c Bedard is a good matchmaker) he could easily sign on with K2 who are looking for HWs to compete for the titles when they move on.thumbsup
He never was with Interbox, they put him on a card or two and apparently offered him a contract, but he didn't take it in favor of his full time job.
