Hey, I’m intrigued in hearing what everyone else thinks….out of these two who is the better coach out of these two trainers. Of course Bo took Crawford to a win over Spence Jr and James but I think that result would have been the same no matter who spence had in his corner. I’m split 50/50 the only thing is I think that BoMacs only real claim to fame to Crawford whereas James has had more success with notable names let’s have a debate…
I think Crawford beating Spence had more to do with Spence being compromised physically. It had nothing to do with Crawfords boxing ability
I'd say the way that he beat him certainly had more to do with Spence's eroded skills than Crawford being the superior fighter. However, he may have always been the better of the two.
I disagree. Spence's physical deficiencies, if there were any, had little to do with his loss to Crawford in my opinion. For me, it was how Spence fought. He never adjusted offensively or defensively. Once Crawford figured him out, it was a wrap.
I'll take BoMac. Only thing Derrick James has going for him is PEDs. Ryan Garcia popped and both the Charlo bros refused to test...and somehow there was no backlash...a joke.
There was never anything to figure out, Crawford never had to shift into another gear, he scored a knockdown in the second round and literally won every second of the fight. That was as one-sided as a fight could possibly be.
Nobody said that BS before the fight tho. Majority of the boxing fans had Spence winning. But after he got his ass whooped, now he was "compromised physically" LOL.
Exactly! A thread from 2022 came back around a few weeks ago talking about the fight before it was penned. Not one mention of Spence having issues from the accident.the accident was in 2019.
Jeff Horn and Spence have a very smiliar style yet Horn did much better against Crawford. Let's not forget Victor Conte
Again, its a convenient retroactive excuse. Spence fought 29 fights, all at WW, all with the same trainer. His weight wasnt a problem in his 27th fight against Garcia (after the accident) nor was it a problem in his 28th fight (after the accident). The man knew how to make weight. What DID stand out is that Spence developed an insecurity about his mouthpiece in 27th and 28th fight because Errol knocked his real teeth out in the accident. He can be seen following his mouthpiece after getting it punched out against Danny (11th or 12th) and Ugas (6th). Nonetheless, the attempt to discredit Crawford's victory is nothing more than shameful hating directed at Bud. Spence was a Top 5 PFP fighter going into the fight and he was soundly defeated.
Nobody was saying Spence was weight drained for Garcia and Ugas, hmmmm. Also, Terence was weight drained as well, so?
