I was pulling for Brook last night but feel genuinely sorry for Khan that this guy was in his corner. Just listen to this. This content is protected
He certainly didn`t know how to turn Khan into Crawford. McCracken had the same response when asked if he`d advise AJ to change tactics v Usyk in a rematch, these trainers don`t know anything and just give vague instructions.
Trainers are overrated All fighters revert to type once the going gets tough Watch AJ Usyk rematch, rinse repeat. All of these guys are pretty much set in their ways by the tine they hit prime time Fury is unique in how multi faceted he able to be, but again if the going gets tough he becomes a brawler who will come after you using his size and iron will.
He did nothing to improve Khan. That's for sure. On the other hand you can't do much if your fighter can't take a jab.
Bomac did nothing wrong. I wanted Khan to win but hearing Bomac's advice was totally fine. He was telling Khan to jab and move and throw the 1-2 and left hook. Problem is Khan's accuracy and timing were off. I just believe Khan is shot this was his first fight in 3 years.
I dont rate him tbh. I think he caught lightning in a bottle with Crawford. What other success has he had with other fighters?
I have no way of knowing this, but always felt that trainers played less of a factor when it came fighters with really high boxing iq. Even when Freddie was training Toney, i always got the feeling that he was just a second opinion and Toney intuitively knew what to do without his input. I could be entirely wrong though.
I agree. If Khan would of had Arcel, Dundee, D' mato and Freddie Brown handing up,the fight would of gone the same way.
He did wonders for Jamel Herring.. There’s nothing special about Herring and BoMac and his team guided him to a world title and a couple of defenses highlighted by his victory over Carl Frampton.. Can’t teach Khan to have a better chin and how to coordinate his handspeed. Khan is what he is regardless of who’s coaching him..
He couldn't care less and he is talking absolute nonsense. Juxtapose that video with any of Dominic Ingle's who is a fantastic man.
Khan was at his peak with Roach and Ariza. He had his flaws but he at least stuck to his strength, blitzing speed and combinations. he just needed to stay there, keep improving that chin and tightening up the guard and against the right opponents, he would dominate. Tryinh to become like Ward with Hunter and Crawford, when fighters mix their styles up too much, they become a jack of styles rather than a master of one.
