Well, I'll take a shot at it. A lot of leather thrown in this one. Quarry gets the best of it and wins a decision.
Quarry, if he fights a smart fight, like he did against Buster Mathis, Thad Spencer and Ron Lyle (I am not likening any of these guys to Oscar) would win a decision over Bonavena, as he would have against Chuvalo if he hadn't gotten careless.
I think Quarry unravels under Bonavena's pressure and awkwardness and loses on points or possibly late stoppage.
I agree. Quarry looked very good against orthodox sluggers like Lyle and Foster, but I think Bonavena would be a rather different customer. I think both can take the others' punches very well, but Bonavena would be better at landing more of them and would win a decision. Though it's never definitive to judge A and B on how they performed against C, Bonavena performed better both against Frazier (nearly beating him in their first fight) and against Ali than Quarry did against either man.
Bonavena was more consistent, but when Jerry was on his game, like he was with Mathis and Spencer, he was brilliant. Best against best, Jerry takes it, but in a series the steadier Ringo probably comes out on top.
Quarry carves up Ringo with his superior hand speed and technical prowless. If Quarry really turns it on he would be capable of stopping Bonavena IMO. Quarry is the superior fighter in every way except perhaps brute strength. And JQ was no weaklling himself! Quarry UD or late kayo over Bonavena
Quarry had some erratic fights but I give Quarry the edge in a close UD if he uses his head like he did vs Lyle,Foster,Shavers
