I see Bonavena winning late. Bonavena could take a punch. Shavers would get tired like he did against Cobb.
Bonavena was a very durable fighter with good power as well. An under rated fighter who would beat or give tough fights to fighters who are more talked about. Bonavena could very well KO Shavers early like Quarry, either that happens or he stops him in the mid to late rounds when Shavers tires.
Bonavena might have been able to beat Norton. With better management and a better lifestyle he could of been something pretty special.
Oscar was strong but had a little more trouble with sharpshooters...He should be too strong for Shavers and smother him like 5"10 Bob Stallings...Oscar by TKO 10 or UD
I'm not 100% sold on Oscar ... he was one tough s.o.b. but he lost to some guys I felt he should have beaten and he did not beat them because in my opinion , based on carefully watching his fights, I feel he was a bit of a front runner and not always the best conditioned ... maybe if he was 100% dedicated he might have been able to jump up a step ... whatever, he was a very fun, entertaining loose cannon of a guy..
Tko, ko or decision, Oscar would have had his way with Shavers. Sharpshooters gave him trouble, but a slugger he could deal with.
