Bonecrusher Smith Against Jerry Quarry?

Despite his physical advantages, Bonecrusher doesn't have the heart or fortitude to beat Quarry.

I’m taking quarry by a wide decision unless Smith lands something big and lucky

 

Puncher's chance for Smith, but the best version of Quarry is so far ahead he'd be a really confident back.

 

He'd be known as the Bonehugger once again.

 

Bonecrusher was one of my favorites but he wouldn't defeat a Quarry who just wouldn't give up. James would get discouraged eventually and lose. Probably by KO.

 

BoneCrusher beats guys like Foreman honestly, his style could pull the upset against the bull dozers- guy like let’s say Archie Moore who knew how to fight well, I don’t think he’d land often enough to make his 230lbs count for more then a bigger dinner. Quarry is most likely going to win, but I don’t in any way think he has to be close to as good as Archie to beat James.

 

I agree smith loses. But I’m not sure he quits. let’s not forget that he was behind against Frank Bruno and came back in the last round to stop him. Granted Quarry was a much better fighter than Bruno

 

Something about BoneCrusher that made me root for him. I just like that he’s a nice in between guy with an average skill set that won some lost some but hit hard.

 

Imagine being so obsessed with a fighter, you bring him up in a thread that has absolutely nothing to do with him just to pick him to lose a fight.

My God some of you need a life.

I haven’t mentioned Ingo ONCE in this thread (well, I have now, actually).

And I generally only bring my man up when I know it’s an absolute, 100% winning scenario for him - like v Liston.

I better not be too jovial - there’s apparently an under-cover humour policeman going around.

 

He’s just the most extreme example of the archetype I think BoneCrusher beats.
