The year is 1940 and Bonecrusher Smith and Mike Weaver are sent back in time with the mission to dethrone Joe Louis. They are both confident that their best Sunday punches will make Joe Louis horizontal for the count of 10.

OK, are we talking about a rasslin' style handicap match?

Both would give Louis long, hard fought matches. I see Joe possibly dropping multiple times against Weaver.

Smith went the distance with Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson was not Joe Louis.

So what...Tyson bit Holyfield's ear so he could get DQ'd....Does that sound like someone who could beat Joe Louis? Don't think so! You guys are amazing! "Bonecrusher" Smith! He gets killed! We're talking Joe Louis here kids!

There seems to be a lot of revisionist attitudes here about Joe Louis, that he wasn’t all that hot. He was. Although to be consistent, I have said that peak Tyson could beat anyone on a given night

I'm gonna go a little longer, I see Joe stopping em both but they could take him in to the latter rounds.

He stops both. Not sure how long each fight lasts. Both had weaknesses that Louis could take advantage of. Mike weaver was a slow starter which could be problematic. Smith was a slow moving puncher with average defense which was the type of opponent that Louis usually took care of easily.

Forget going the distance with Tyson, he got bitched for 12 against Bruno and turned the fight around in the last minute of the round. Smith wasn't exactly a weak man when it came to taking punches.

Earth to Classic Boxing Forum … we are talking about JOE FREAKING LOUIS here. Bonecrusher Smith equates to a pimple on his derrière in the grand scheme of things.

Really? I love Weaver, but he was a notorious for being inconsistent and a slow starter.

He might get wobbled or go down but Louis decisively batters both before the late rounds
