His run of Weaver, Ferguson, Bey, and Witherspoon, followed by going 12 with Tyson doesn’t get the credit it deserves.

He and Berbick don’t get enough credit because they weren’t stylish.

    Well, I'd like Berbick a bit more if he wasn't a ******.

It's unfortunate. Both him and Dokes are stains on the 80s heavyweights.

I am a huge bonecrusher fan.

If i could have any Heavyweights physique it would be the prime bonecrusher.

Rarely for a powerpuncher he had a tough chin in his prime..which of course was quite short..Really only 5 years or so for a guy who turned pro so late. But he was a factor right up to the end of 1993.

The 83-93 period was an incredible era for HW talent...Tubbs boxed brilliantly to beat Smith.

Ive always felt it a myth thats grown that Bruno won all 9 rounds was dominating and than lost. The fact is Smith was dangerous throughout and the rounds were hard fought.

Some felt he beat Frazier and Rodriguez

Bonecrusher beat a hell of a lot of guys in their youth and prime rather than old names.Witherspoon,
Bruno,Weaver,Ribalta, Bey,Ferguson,Sims...and Weaver again. He had a rapidly improving Razor Ruddock on the floor. I actually dont buy Witherspoons claim he took a dive. I think Tim was lazy and demotivated and got caught.

If he was gonna take a dive to get out of his contract with King and miss a Tyson payday and be blacklisted for 6 years thats a wrror of judgement.

Smith was a difficult opponent even through the 90s his ***** horribulus 1994 notwithstanding.

At 45 he came out looking intimidating and in a fury against Aussie Joe Bugner and suffered a horrible freak injury in what had been a fast paced brawl.

    College graduate...ex Marine...married to a teacher. A classy guy a credit to his proffesion(s).
