Frank Bruno - BEST PUNCHER James “Bonecrusher” Smith: Smith had a hard punch and he was strong. This was one of my hardest fights. I was quite young at the time and he was a lot older. I lost this fight outright but it gave me a lot of experience. I learned a lot from his punches and tried to use his style later on in my boxing.
Mike Weaver - BEST PUNCHER Bernardo Mercado: Bernardo Mercado was a hard puncher. He dropped me in the gym when we sparred and then we fought and he dropped me in a fight also and I knocked him out the next round. Bonecrusher was a hard puncher, very strong. Gerrie Coetzee was a very hard puncher. Lennox was a hard puncher. I always tell people Bernardo Mercado was the hardest puncher I fought because I was in the prime of my life. I was like 27 years old. Lennox Lewis and Bonecrusher Smith were hard punchers but I fought them in my 30s and 40s.
Razor Ruddock - I tell you, when he punched me it felt like an earthquake. Every inch of your body felt that power.
You have to admire posters that do not allow personal bias to eliminate logic, scale or the ability to focus on stylistic matchups or physical primes .. 4:25. This content is protected . Iced Bruno more throughly than Lewis, Tyson or Witherspoon This content is protected . No one ever before or since did that to Witherspoon This content is protected . Weaver's chin was not that great and he also wasn't always in good shape. What happened in the rematch with Weaver? Witherspoon, when he was actually motivated, went the distance. I'd pick several boxers to KO the unmotivated Witherspoon Smith faced in the rematch. Bruno was almost as easy to hit as Smith was. Both Tyson and Lewis stopped him faster than Smith so what is your point exactly? For 2 of Smith's best KO wins, he did worse the other times he faced the same boxer! And all 3 were not particularly difficult to stop! If you mean the nerves firing in my stomach as I'm laughing at the weird leaps of logic, then yes.
I didn't know you could see my expressions professor X. If that's all you have to say, you can go back to being irrelevant.
I met the original Hispanic Causing Panic once. Nice guy. I always rooted for him because of that nickname. Classic.
If the thread was about Lennox Lewis or Fury trying to spam clinches and taking Foreman into deep waters late to finish him off, that would be a completely reasonable discussion. They both had high ring IQ and had more to their game plan besides just hugging, like a good jab, combinations, and defense. They also have wins over elite opposition and funnily enough, they both have KO% higher than Smith's abysmal record. Smith...not so much.
Weaver fought to survive and Bonecrusher won an easy victory. Right, he was less motivated fighting for the heavyweight title in MSG than most of his other fights .. Project what you what but in seventy fights Witherspoon was never stopped by anyone like he lost to Bonecrusher .. That he could come from behind to win and that he lad late round KO power .. two points hard to prove w the old Foreman. Sloppy, dumb attempt at a point by you .. My post wasn't directed to you but it may as well have been .. try reading and not spewing ..
Talking about a low ring IQ who was the dope that was roped and then fought Jimmy Young in Puerto Rico's heat ?
