Tommy has speed and power. Smith has power and chin. Who do you like over twelve?

I'm going with Bonecrusher.. While James was quite limited in many ways, you generally had to be pretty "good" to beat him.. Weather it was possessing a decent ring IQ, being a good boxer, or simply having the power, chin and other physical tools to match him.. Morrison had power and fast hands but little else.. Prime for prime I see this ending up in similar fashion to the Mercer fight.

The people is picking smith too easily here. With the legendary and classic pretext "tommy morrison glass chin blablabla" every guy who stopped morrison could bang. and he was stopped only 3 times In 52 fights.
Smith winning is as probable as morrison winning by ko with a huge left hook just like the ruddock fight maybe While is down in the cards

Prime Smith had a great chin and he hit harder than Bentt and Mercer, and hit as hard as Lewis.
Smith KO'd better men than Morrison. Smith handled the power of men who hit as hard as Morrison.

Morrison was stopped only 3 times in 52 fights, but at least 42 of those fights were against complete tomato cans and bums.

Yes, Morrison had a glass chin.

"Prime smith" had a great chin, why? While he was not stopped he was "prime smith with great chin? The dumbest afirmation ever, your chin is equal always, what you improve is your mental toughness when you get hurt.
You have absolutely no proof about that because you have no source of any measure so pure speculation, even if he did it does not guarantee him Winning by ko . frazier probably did hit harder than ali, ali did beat forman by ko and frazier lost, ruddock probably did hit harder than douglas, James did beat tyson by ko and ruddock lost.

Again... It based on your imagination

I dont see how the chins of norton, lewis or Louis are better

Watch the first Smith-Witherspoon fight, that's should be enough proof of great chin.

No, chin isn't always equal. Relative quality of chin depends on conditioning.
If a fighter is out of shape and hasn't done the right training his chin is not going to be the same is it ?

The chin is always the same in a pro fighter. Like i said what you improve is your mental factor when you get hurt.
By The way smith got 44-17 record Not exactly a great récord. His debut was a defeat by ko early against a nobody.(but i suppose that your excuse now will be "pre prime chin". Just laughable)
He lost against marvis frazier and moorer(noway in hell these 2 had better chin than morrison).
He lost against adilson rodriguez and got knocked out by ruddock ( who morrison stopped). Morrison despite he did outbox foreman he took some good punches from george(who very likely did hit harder than smith).
Yes tommy morrison was better than James smith. Deal with it dear.

Don't be silly. You think Muhammad Ali's chin is as good today as it was in 1974 ?

He ran out of gas and was hit by a body shot. Nothing to do with chin. He was not in professional condition. Watch the fight.
James Broad was an experienced amateur champion who had been boxing for years and had qualified for the 1980 Olympic team. Not a "nobody".

You're talking about fights you don't know about.
He deserved the decision against Marvis Frazier, and was flat out robbed against Adilson.
He was fat and out of shape against Ruddock.

    You overrate Morrison.
I think Foreman took it easy on Morrison. I don't know why. Anyway, Morrison ran like a b!tch all night, turning away and running off from the old man.

Smith beat far better fighters than Morrison did. He fought everyone, and when they were good too.
Yes, he lost to Holmes, Tubbs, Witherspoon and Tyson but most of those he fought when they were PRIME.
He beat Bruno, Weaver, Witherspoon, deserved the win against Marvis.
Morrison struggled with washed-up Carl Williams. The best Morrison ever managed was a hit-and-run-away decision against Foreman.

    I'll go with Smith.

He was pretty durable and carried his power well into the fight, if Morrison doesn't get to him early he gets stopped in the mid-to late rounds.

Of course it's possible that Morrison could outbox him similarly to Foreman, Smith was pretty slow and clumsy.

I know why. Because he was eating hooks that would put most men into a coma. Foreman wanted no part of Morrison. Gill Clancy even advised him against the fight.

congratulations, the biggest bunch of **** i did read ever( the first one was the answer of a 12 years old kid, and the rest were excuses and more excuses). and the point was.. if he could not stop moorer or marvis i cant see why the bigger, stronger harder puncher morrison could not last the distance with him or stop him.

by the way. old foreman would beat the **** of smith
