Perhaps the hardest hitter of his era.
His problem was he didn't always want to fight.

Should've gotten back at James Broad in a rematch.

Smith could hit. One of the few heavyweight champions to have a college degree.

I'd only rate Lewis above him out of that list, and only because Lewis was a more effective puncher. For sheer power, Bonecrusher was up there with the best in my opinion.

I believe he was the first HW champ to earn a college degree.

Really funny guy; was always one of my favorites, along with Pinklon Thomas.

Hmm, Morrison that left hook was nasty and had some snap but a shot Carl Williams took them most of the night and was stopped on his feet, so I'd say Smith rates above Morrison.

Lewis I'll give you this one Lewis had absolute dynamite in his right hand and when he was aggressive and wanted to hurt you it was nasty! The KO in the 2nd Rahman fight is BRUTAL!!!

Tyson - Smith is the bigger stronger man I'd say but Tyson may have had better one punch power, this is a close one. Tyson was just a vastly superior fighter his speed and combination punching versus the sloppy and slow Smith.. But Smith had the strength of an OX.

    McCall - No chance.

Bruno - Bruno had very good Power but also was painfully slow I'll take Smith to edge Frank in the Power Dept.

Ruddock - Yes I think with that left hook, his hook I'll take over the Smith right.. Ruddock had amazing power in the smash!!!!

Bowe - No a good puncher but not a great puncher. Very rough and one of the best body punching and inside fighting heavyweights especially for a man his size of all time.. All the tools to fight on the outside but he loved to mix it up inside and was damn good at it his uppercut and body shots were lethal but still not a devastating puncher but a very good puncher, slight edge to Smith.

Surely University degree?! I would have thought Tunney had a decent college education so to Schmeling.

Only on this forum can you watch a guy named "Bonecrusher" argue with a guy named "tommytheduke" about whether Smith hit harder than Morrison.

I think Bonecrusher had a college degree. He had probably calculated that Tyson had "mega-tonnage" in his punches....so Bonecrusher defaulted to a bunker-down defense in their fight.
