I agree - wow. Don't know if i am communating with an american here - so maybe this comparison doesn't make much sense to you. I am a huge football fan (soccer - whatever) - if the referee makes a wrong decision in favor of my team, i don't care. If he makes a wrong decision against my team or towards a team i don't like - my reaction is different. So yea, i am a hypocrite when it comes to sport. I don't like or support his actions, but i remain a fan of the fighter. I was a fan before and i am still a fan after.
Deep South - help me a bit here. - US? A notice for next time, look at the profile picture Liverpool fan btw. - Barcelona or just Messi fan?
Guess it's normal in Deep South (South America i reckon then) - being a Messi fan. How can you support a man sentenced for tax fraud? My point being. If you're a fan, you allow more. While i don't support Jon Jones' actions, i'm still a fan of him as a fighter.
LOL a month ago Romero withdrew from fighting Costa on this card due to an eye injury but now is somehow fit to fight for another title. Diaz vs Poirier is a far bigger fight but I guess UFC got desperate due to there need to headline these PPV cards with title fights.
I like this fight, but hate it's for a title. Romero hasn't fought in the UFC's 205 division. It's been 7 years since Romero fought at 205, which is the one stoppage loss of his career. There is no way to justify Romero challenging for the light heavyweight belt, outside his being a replacement for the cancellation of a legitimate title fight. DC being stripped this soon is absurd. You should have a year to face your top contender. Edit: DC is not being stripped. This will be for a stupid interim title. The UFC needs to stop watering down the worth of their belts just to sell the main event as some BS title fight.
It will be interesting to see the drop off in performance when Jones returns seemingly now off the ped's. Surely he wouldn't risk getting popped again ?
