Someone should tell the guy you don't "play possum" with your OPPONENT when the ref is counting over you on the canvas. atsch In 30 years of watching fights, this is one of the DUMBEST manuevers I have ever seen a fighter pull. :nod
While i agree it was his own fault the referee could have done the sensible thing and restarted the fight and there would of been no one complaining.
Yeah, he could have once he saw Bonsante was OK. But he's NOT gonna reverse his initial call, same as most officials in sports won't typically reverse calls when somebody argues. It was pretty clear Bonsante could have continued. It was also pretty clear that he totally brought the situation on himself by playing possum. It's WHY he did it that's the mystery!!
One of the dumbest moves ever by a boxer. He deserved to lose after pulling a stupid stunt like that.
The ref did the right thing in my opinion. Bostante reacted like a complete ****ing idiot. Oh my God it was cringeworthy!
