Why would they be afraid of a guy who had been blown away by McCall. I think Lewis after losing to McCall was not worth the risk v. reward as much as an opponent as Holyfield i.e. Tyson could get much more money for fighting Holyfield than Lewis so that's what he did.

Because King and Tyson wanted to keep their title in house. Holyfield was controlled by King. King did not want to lose control of the title, like he did when Tyson lost to Douglas. This is the main reason why King and Tyson dodged Lewis - also the fact that they knew Lewis was Mike's worst nightmare.

Had Tyson beat Holyfield he probably would have fought Lewis soon after.

That's a good question. There would have been no political pressure to force Tyson and King to fight Lewis who likely would have stalled for as long as possible. King probably would have used media manipulation tactics to discredit Lewis, kind of like how Haymon/Floyd did this to Pacquiao for years.

So I highly doubt King and Tyson would have risked their revenue stream vs. Lewis until Tyson's PPV numbers started declining badly. Fans forget Holyfield dodged Lewis for over a year, Lewis even began referring to Holyfield as "Evader."

Tyson v lewis a 'superfight' is really ridiculous.

then I remember, people are ridiculous, so maybe it was.

Had Tyson beaten Holyfield I think he would have had close to his full confidence back. He may have even made Don a believer again and if that was the case they wouldn't have ducked anyone.
Also, Evander fought Lennox ~9 months after the Tyson rematch with 2 fights in between.

No, if anything Arum and Pacqiauo and their re****ed fans have long continued a smear campaign against Floyd.

Floyd is scared, Floyd doesn't fight southpaws, Floyd doesn't fight fast fighters. Even other fighters started spouting the same.rubbish. Alexander claimed Floyd avoids slick black American fighters. Even though Alexander has lost to all the best American fighters he faced and Floyd has beat more American fighters than Alexander has.

Then Floyd signs the contract people moan about how Floyd waited for Pacqiauo to get old.

Floyd FINALLY signed the contract because he was forced by les Moonves. Floyd doesnt' want this fight on May 2, he'd prefer another easy handpicked set up, but now that he's been forced, he's putting on the brave face.

Floyd was finally checkmated by Pac, Arum, Moonves, the fans, Oscar, the media.

That's your opinion. In my opinion Spinks was scared ****less of Tyson and the fight was over before Tyson even entered the ring. Tyson - Ruddock I & II are fights I'd hang my hat on if I wanted to talk about Tyson's best performances. He really had to fight in both of these bouts. That said, the Spinks fight was an important win for Tyson's legacy.
