Unforgivable Blackness about Jack Johnson is another very good one. Does anyone recall one of the earlier books on Muhammad Ali that was written by Wilfred Sheed? A very good one on Ali but it seems to have disappeared over time.
Unforgiveable Blackness is such a good book. Did you seen the Ken Burns documentary? If anyone has Amazon Prime there's a free week's trial of PBS America and it's on there. That might vary depending upon location. And great mention of McIlvaney On Boxing. That's a stunning piece of writing.

My pleasure but the real thanks goes to the suppliers in the thread. You’ll find there are a number of posters here who generously share their own, hard earned material - stuff you might not see or read otherwise. Welcome to the board brother.
I enjoyed FACING ALI by Stephan Brunt, more than any other Boxing book I had read, simply because it is all 1st Hand accounts from Ali's Opponents... so, next to being there and reading the Actual Reports, you can't get a much more acurate account. an Excellent book.
Currently half way through Unforgivable Blackness, the rise and fall of Jack Johnson. Brilliant story, picking things up that I never knew about the guy. Makes me appreciate him even more, and realise just what a great character as well as fighter he was.
Just reading that Jack s book now, Stevie. Bloody interesting, love Reading about fighters from that era.
This isn’t exactly on subject but I haven’t found a thread where it seemed appropriate to post this to - this thread is as good as any. This is an antique collectables/valuation site - WORTHPOINT. There is a ton of stuff over a broad range of subject matters - including a number of less often seen boxing photos and boxing memorabilia otherwise. Type in a an old/current boxer of your choice and see you how you go:- https://www.worthpoint.com/
