I was not impressed with Boom Boom's showing. I don't see any improvement at all. In fact it look's like he got worst. No jabs what so ever.

For those who watched the fight . . . what's your observation?

Have not seen the fight yet, but I think his chin will be his biggest stumbling block, and that traumatic 1st round KO from De Leon will haunt him.

definitely not impressive... he was too tight... he tried so hard to impress the people... and he seems to have an issue with his stamina there were times were he appears to be coasting.

i dont think his chin was as terrible as his utter lack ofhead movement. world class fighters rarely take flush power shots, but roll with the punches (holyfield), deflect most power shots (wright), or duck and slide (mayweather).

nothings change, the same boomboom. he is gassing out in the 7th round bad sign for him.

    ponce definitely ruined the kid.

ponce by ko if they meet again.

1st round showed he did not learn from the pdl scenario, he still came out rushing for a ko:-( , a little bit too tight and lacks jabs. he never learned from his mistakes. anyways i think he just underestimated meza coz of his record of bum fighters (i too) but meza was tough, i gave the mexican credit for that.

I agree Bautista is unimpressive and even gone worst. Still I suspect a weak chin, and also tends to rattle when being pressured. Fighting Ponce de Leon again is a bad idea to take, same thing will happen to the kid.

Boom2x needs a new trainer, a world class one. Or else once he meet another
power puncher or Class B+ or Class A fighter, he will get schooled big time or K.O again.
In the beginning of the fight with the tough hombre Meza, Bautista is flat footed, no lateral movements, no head movements he doesn't use his jab, poor defense.

Boom Boom sucks. He will never be a top fighter. He will be a gatekeeper who people will fight to get a name fighter on their record. He's too vulnerable and doesn't take it well when he gets hit.

Exactly, a grade A china chin is a BIG handicap if you want to be a world class fighter.

Bautista is a KO waiting to happen, again. :nod

not that impressive, but not a boring one...they were slugging it out all the way... twas good to see him regain confidence again. He does need a new trainer, someone who could teach him some finesse

feel sorry for him tbh. thrown into the lions den at 21 against de leon when he obviously wasn't ready for such a task and gets iced. haven't seen last nights fight but it doesn't suprise me to hear he hasn't improved much. his confidence must be so low.

You guys are dogging him and that's wrong. No one will ever look impressive coming off a beat down to what Ponce De Leon gave to him. He's still young and his flaws can be fixed with time

I'm not saying he's a world beater even before he faced Ponce, but He's got to go back to the drawing board. Gain some confidence against some Trike drivers and move on to the better competition with the orange dealers.

His handlers should be hanged for putting him out there that soon. Look at what Arum did to Chavez Jr. Slowly bring him along.

In other words, he has the potential and talent but he defenitely needs a BETTER trainer. More importantly than the result is he got back his confidence. The is good starting point.

Since he is still young, he needs two or three more tune up fights before he fights ponce de leon! first things first. He needs to change his TRAINER!
