I was 21 at the time, and at that point only ever heard about gays like some mythical people, it was the first time I had seen gayness at close quarters and it freaked me out, I couldn't grasp what I had just seen, so just legged it.

 

Do you think that was down to society's view of homosexuality, or just naturally found it weird that a two blokes would get it on with one another?

A bit of both I suspect.

It wasn't spoke about or seen as much back then and growing up in a old fashioned household, it was seen as wrong in a sense.

I'm a lot better now although I still don't like seeing it.

I find the whole debate pretty interesting. I don't have an issue with gay marriage, I was against it previously but not any more. I am not sure about gay adoption though.

Like you I still get a bit freaked out when I see a gay couple holding hands or kissing. Just can't help but find it strange.
