Booth: Arreola doesn't deserve title fight

I think Haye did a fairly good job of that himself when he signed the contract for the Valuev fight without consulting Golden Boy.

 

if arreola really really wanted to get in way better shape he could if he truly dedicated himself to the sport full time diet and all cos hes a real fighter and a better trainer than hes got i think he would take haye

 

Thing is,he throws a hell of a lot of leather and doesn't seem to have stamina issues...

He's probably fitter than Haye actually.

 

And so it begins.

Haye's got his title, all he needs to do now is shut his trap and start fighting all these 'bums' he said he was going to KO.

I've always been a big Haye fan. Always looked forward to him becoming HW champ. But it's all starting to feel a bit hollow right now.

Who has better stamina....Arreola or Haye??

He maybe shouldn't get a shot because he has just been beat but to deny him a shot because of his shape is just absurd.

 

I agree with him, Arreola did nothing to warrant a fight with Klitschko and he shouldn't automatically get another shot at a belt just because people know his name. The McCline win looks good on paper but McCline was in terrible condition, that fight was like seeing two bottles of very sour milk clinking together.
There are some who'd say Haye didn't deserve a title shot either of course and they have at least an arguable point but at least he had his cruiserweight pedigree.

 

I'd rather see Arreola/Haye than fights against Ruiz and a rematch with Valuev. The Ruiz fight is a mandatory but then a ****in rematch against Valuev? Jeez, c'mon now. I hope it doesn't happen but it probably will if what we're hearing about the contract is correct.

Booth's comment is ****ed up, what an idiot. The obsession Booth and Haye have about other boxers appearance is strange.

David should fight James Toney. The build up would be great.

Booth said "Arreola, you can see he's a tough guy, he's got a big heart but the condition he turned up in was a disgrace. He has to prove his worth and get in there and win some fights and show he can turn up in shape to do what he's got to do before we can consider it. But yes, Chris Arreola is a name."

He's not ruled him out and it's fair comment really.

 

It's a fair comment. Arreola is a professional athlete and his appearance is evidence that he is not as prepared as he should be for a fight. Simple as that. If he was obliterating the top contenders looking like **** then fine but he hasn't been and he was just on the receiving end of a prolonged beat down which could have been closer if he ate, trained and prepared a gameplan properly, but he didn't and so doesn't deserve another shot yet. That said not many other fighters do tbh! A few fights down the line and hopefully if he can demonstrate his commitment to the game by turning up in shape and beating some names then yeah it would be a good fight vs Haye

 

Doesnt Arreola normally look worse than he did in his last fight? Id like to see Haye take him on, would be good fight and build-up.

 

Arreola is a fat Mexican and little more. Haye stops him mid fight just for the fun of it.

 

Maybe Areola deserved a title shot, maybe he didn't.

On the other hand, does wins against Gary Delaney (It was at Heavyweight), Bonin and Barrett justify Haye's title shot?

 

Calzaghe got a shot at the lineal light-heavyweight title with no fights at the weight before, and there are plenty of examples of the same thing, Hatton-Collazo, Khan-Kotelnik (not a good example though as he'd done sod all at lightweight).
