Haye cannot do anything that Herbie Hide couldn't do. - Haye winning by stoppage out of the question. Vitali can do everything Valuev can do, and also throw a **** load of punches - based on volume alone Haye cannot win on points. Barring Vitali breaking his own kneecap during the fight in some kind of freak accident, there is no way Haye can beat Vitali, with Vitali just aging another 6-12 months.
The difference with the Haye-Valuev fight (which you keep coming back to) is that it is an anomilly on Hayes record. That is the only time he has faught like that! You are using it as a negative and it was only for one fight that he faught that way. Vitali fights the same way each time. Of course the trainers had game plans but very few of their fighters have gone into the ring with a view to implement it. They got in the ring for a payday knowing they were going to lose!
Well hopefully the fight happens and we can then come on here and discuss who was right after. I won't sherk it. If Haye loses I will be on here admitting that I was wrong. Of course I expect the same from you if the unthinkable happens!
Agreed its the only time he's fought like that but its also the most relevant when considering a fight against Vitali Klitschko as he's not the type that can be bombed out with a couple of punches unlike maybe his brother. Vitali Klitschko has a similar physical presence to Valuev, but he has far more devil in him offensively and will throw far more punches. Are we supposed to believe Haye turns from a very cautious performance which negated Valuev's physical advantages to an aggressive performance against Vitali who shares these advantages but can use them more effectively? It's bull****, people are just seeing what they want to see and nutriding Haye. This is boxing not the Olympics, by all means support our guy but lets just retain some objectivity. If we're going to sit here criticizing Vitali/Wlad's opponents lets do the same for Haye. If we're going to take the negatives out of Vitali's performance this weekend why don't we just realize Haye threw 12 punches a round in his last fight and lost at least 4 rounds.
What is relevant is Vitali fights like a large crippled version of Joe Calzaghe, which makes him an absolute monster.
I actually think Haye's record is pretty good when you look at the step ups he's made. I think his record satcks up well. And If Haye is not more positive againsy Vitali than he was against Valuev then I will be the first person on here saying 'how wrong did I get it, wtf was he doing!'
So what Adam is saying is that he fails to understand how these so called top American heavyweights have failed to figure out how to fight Vitali and land punches. Right, well the truth is that they haven't because they are simply not good enough. Samuel Peter, Juan Carlos Gomez, Chris Arreola and Kevin Johnson are average fighters who look good in an awful weight division until they come up against Vitali. Without Haye this is without doubt the worst heavyweight division that I can remember. Vitali's style is to come forward in small steps, bully you and leather you on the ropes. Haye and Booth will not let that happen. Lets give them some credibility they are smart men. They know Haye wont have a war with VK but they will break him down by using angles, speed and consistent movement. In my opinion Haye will be far too quick for him and move in and out like he did against Valuev. The only way that VK wins this proposed fight is if Haye decides to use the tactic that the last batch of incompotent opponents for VK have decided to use. David Haye is a very clever fighter and with Adam Booth I have no doubt their gameplan will prove successful.
