Ok let me clarify, in boxing Ustinov is a non entity.

To simplify, Ustinov, Mormeck, Rahman, I really don't give a toss. You can't say with any real conviction that one is better than the other.

I think the idea is Mormeck will bring in French PPV so he would be more profitable (and less risky) to fight than Chagaev or Povetkin.

Of course, since Rahman is a known entity in the UK then perhaps fighting him would be the bigger promotion. On the other hand fighting Rahman would be shades of fighting Audley--Rahman doesn't deserve the shot and there's every reason to believe he would peform badly.

Unlike Rahman or Harrison, Mormeck will be game and come forward and make it an interesting fight to watch. Plus the relatively close initial match can be used to hype the rematch.

So I can see why Booth would be interested in Mormeck. It will be a shame for the fans though, if Haye actually ducks his mandatory. Maybe Haye doesn't even care about the belt, but if he loses it he likely loses his Klit payday down the road.

WBA should force Haye to fight mandatory. Klitschkos fight their mandatories. Why the double standard?

Good post but the only point I think is unfair is using "duck" when refering to Chagaev.

Firstly I wouldn't want to fight a guy with Hep C so it would be hypocritical of me to suggest Haye should.
Secondly after Chagaevs last outing I seriously doubt Haye feels threatened.

Vlad fought Chagaev. Haye refuses to fight Vitali or Vlad. Haye refuses to fight Povetkin, Boytsov, Chambers, Arreola, Adamek, etc.

6 months for full immunisation, so Chagaev is out.
    Povetkin is injured.
    Boytsov is injured.
Chambers and Arreola are non entites with the WBA.
Adamek has never even been in discussions with Haye.

    Get your facts right numbnuts.

Haye knows about the fight for some months. Enough time for fullimmunisation.

Travis Walker fights against Chagaev and Wlad in 2009, no problem with Hep.

Well that's down to the WBA to enforce it is it not?
Also anyone who's fought Chagaev was obviously immunised so it's not a problem.

If the WBA are enforcing Chagaev as mandatory they should force Haye and any potential future opponents to get immunused.

    By Jhonny Gonzalez

Heavyweight Ruslan Chagaev has a mandatory shot at the WBA title which has to be carried out on or before April 3, 2011. Nevertheless, with Chagaev's current condition of Hepatitis B, the medical advisor of the WBA, doctor Calvin Inal-Singh, advised him not to fight. The WBA's executive vice-president Gilberto Mendoza Jr. has ruled that the champion, David Haye, has the legal authority to request additional tests on Chagaev. Haye has pressed for the contest to be in England and it's expected that Chagaev will not pass a medical exam due to Hepatitis B. It may explain why Chagaev's promoter Universum is going to make their moves to stage the contest elsewhere.

If it goes to purse bids (which it probably will) chances are Universum will lose so the fight would be off anyway.

How many did Haye pay to get this ****?

Chagaev has hep. for a long time, as he was Champ and mandatory. Now the WBA ruled this? Laughable.

The thing is the BBBC won't allow Chagaev to fight in the UK (I don't think he's allowed to fight outside of Germany anymore) so theoretically when it goes to purse bids GBP/Haymaker promotions can make up any number they want, say $50 million as a bid. Universum can't match that so Chagaev automatically loses his mandatory status since he can't fight in Germany.

It sucks for Chagaev but there you go.

Haye is immunized since it is required to get a boxing license in UK. The problem is that Chagaev may not get a license to fight in UK. I betcha it will still go to purse bid since WBA will want to make sure they collect their monies.

But like I posted above Hayemaker/GPB can bid an obscene unbelieveable amount that Universum obviously can't match then the fight is automatically off then isn't it since Chagaev can't fight in the UK.

Also if it's required why would they refuse the fight in the UK?

Haye has vacination so he can go to germany, box his mandatory in April and than Wlad on 2the of july.

No problem for a real Champ. Chagaev looks not good in his last fight. So if Haye is so good, he will win in 1 or 2 rounds not more than a sparring session.
